Tech Contracted to Provide RFID Attendee Tracking and Lead Management
Services for IBM Software University
Austin, Texas,
July 2005
Alliance Tech has been contracted to provide RFID Attendee Tracking
and Lead Management services for IBM Software University. With an
estimated 20,000 potential attendees, IBM SWU is one of the largest
events put on by a single company.
Most of the attendees are IBM employees, Business Partners, and ISVs
who seek to gain new information on the products they use and sell.
A large number of attendees are required to attend for their professional
development.
“The attendees get educational credits for the sessions they
attend at this event. But how to keep track of which individuals attended
which sessions is a real challenge when you are dealing with thousands
of people in several different venues.” Says Art Borrego, CEO
of Alliance Tech,“Our RFID solution will be an incredible asset
to the IBM SWU event team.”
In previous years, IBM relied on handheld barcode scanners to capture
this information. This was costly and cumbersome – requiring
a staff of hundreds to manually scan attendees as they walked through
session room doorways.
The RFID technology eliminates the need for handheld scanners, making
it a more cost-effective, non-invasive solution. Alliance Tech will
be supporting 160 concurrent sessions everyday during the event. All
of the information captured by the RFID scanners is collected in Alliance
Tech’s event metrics software which can then be used to provide
customized post-event attendance reports to IBM.
In addition to RFID Attendee Tracking, Alliance Tech will be providing
Lead Management, Conference Messaging, Survey Management, and Networking & Support
solutions.
